Being a young and popular singer-songwriter, she's one of history's best selling artists. Barbados born, she first began listening to reggae music as her age increased and began singing by herself, when she was an teen. Due to the chaos that surrounded her family and the arguments that her parents were having, she began to pursue music. Soon she decided she was going to pursue a career as a singer. While still in highschool she joined a musical group and was asked to audition with Evan Rodgers. The producer was impressed by the talents of this young lady. Rihanna relocated into New York to start a profession as a full-time singer. Rihanna quickly became a star following her first release. She was a favorite amongst the youth for her peppy, foot-tapping music. It led to her becoming a director. Talented and young, Rihanna is now regarded as both a teen-idol as well as a fashion icon. Rihanna makes use of her fame to do charity and regularly contributes to various organizations.
